Getting to the Cotswolds
If you are coming from London I would strongly advise that you take the train from London Paddington to Charlbury railway station, where I will meet you. Charlbury is an ideal place to start your tour of the Cotswolds. As it is impossible to cover all of the Cotswolds in one day, starting from Charlbury means that we can thoroughly cover the eastern half of the Cotswolds, which is an area I personally find the most charming and interesting. This area includes my home town of Burford, Swinbrook, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Stow on the Wold, Snowshill, Chipping Campden, Broadway and numerous other picturesque villages along the way. However, I am completely flexible, and I can adjust the itinerary at any time, before and/or during the tour, to meet your wishes. I will of course return you to Charlbury for your return journey to London.
For your information current train times are as follows:
Getting to the Cotswolds:
Monday - Friday | ||
Saturday | ||
Sunday |
Departing the Cotswolds:
Monday - Friday | ||
Saturday | ||
Sunday |
These timings would provide you with a typical personal day tour of the Cotswolds. Please ensure you check your train departure times before you set off for the station by using this link: www.nationalrail.co.uk
Please note that my tours usually start at Charlbury or Moreton in the Marsh train stations, or other places within the central Cotswolds area. Should you wish to be collected and/or returned to a location outside the central Cotswolds area there may be a small additional charge. Also this additional driving time will use up some of your touring time with me so you will undoubtedly get more from your day if you take the train to Charlbury or Moreton in the Marsh train stations to meet me there.
